Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Manager to lead our North Queensland team and will be located at the Springmount Waste Facility. This role involves managing all aspects of operations, including the landfill and transfer station, developing the business, and ensuring compliance with regulations. As the Regional Manager, you will play a crucial role in the growth and success of our operations while fostering a positive teamwork environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Oversee the management of the Springmount Waste Management Facility, Transfer Stations, and Transport operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, financial constraints, HSE&Q systems and processes, and REMONDIS HR policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, organize, and provide direction for employees to achieve outstanding performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with councils and customers to achieve growth targets for the operations.
  • Site Development: Undertake design and construction projects for the future development of the site.
  • Tender Participation: Participate in tendering activities to secure volumes for the facility.
  • Joint Venture Management: Manage Joint Venture meetings as required.
  • Team Environment: Actively contribute to a positive teamwork environment.
  • Financial Performance: Ensure financial performance at each site meets budget expectations.
  • Business Development: Develop the business by sourcing opportunities with councils, waste contractors, and waste generators.
  • Landfill Development: Plan, coordinate, and manage the construction process for cell and capping requirements.
  • Contract Management: Manage waste contracts with key clients and ensure the profitability of the business unit.
  • Procurement: Authorize the purchasing of materials required for operational performance.
  • Supplier Management: Assign work to appropriately sourced suppliers and qualified subcontractors.
  • Marketing: Market and promote REMONDIS business in the North Queensland region.
  • On-call Requirements: Be available for after-hours on-call requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the waste management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with waste management processes and technologies.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with profit and loss management for operational businesses.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
