Graduate Program at REMONDIS

Developing future leaders of REMONDIS

We love recruiting the leaders and problem solvers of tomorrow. One of the ways we welcome talent into our operations is via our Graduate Program, in which we invite recent graduates from a spectrum of specialties to join us for a two-year program of professional development performing hands-on operational roles with and immediate, purposeful impact.

With many of REMONDIS’ current leaders joining through previous Graduate Program intakes, we’re proud of the reputation we’ve built for investing in graduate talent and giving them real work, with real growth opportunities.

Applications for REMONDIS Australia’s third Graduate Program has closed. Six opportunities are offered across operations in each of the states REMONDIS has offices in (NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia). Many of these are operational roles based within the depots and recycling facilities we operate, so be prepared to get your boots on.

During the architected two years, our Graduates will be parachuted into hands-on placements covering all corners of the company’s business and operations, giving participants varied exposure, diverse experiences and a breadth of knowledge. Our new cohort of Graduates will be joining REMONDIS at a time of exciting transformation, growing from opportunities to take accountability. There will be formal learning and supercharged development, but participants won’t be in ‘training mode’. Rather, learning and growth will arise from being in a real-life setting, with exceptional mentors and a clear mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

During our two-year Program, Graduates have an opportunity to experience different aspects of our organisation working rotations across a range of business units and teams – broadly aligned with their qualification – and are given real responsibility from the start.

The rotation-based approach provides our Graduates with well-rounded experience across the business, plus the support and guidance to help them succeed in their placement and broader professional career.

When conditions permit, our Graduates are expected to travel and undertake interstate rotations.

REMONDIS is proudly a key player in Australia’s waste and recycling industry, so our employees and Graduates need to share an interest in environmental sustainability and in exploring the practical realities of waste logistics, recycling and resource recovery. It’s important work with a big remit, which often puts our Graduates into the field within the branches and depots in which we operate.

Two years, with four six-month rotations – although variations certainly occur as Graduates are matched to changing strategic business needs or undertake three-month interstate rotations.

Applications for our 2024 Graduate Program intake has closed but in the meantime opportunities for recent graduates provided outside of the formalised structure of our Graduate Program are listed right here on our Careers website. Browse open roles here, sign up for Job Alerts for future opportunities – and please follow us on LinkedIn to watch us grow.

Following successful completion of the program, there is a high probability that Graduates will be offered a permanent full-time role in the business aligned with their qualifications.

Candidates undergo a recruitment and selection program that focuses on attitude, behaviour and cultural fit over level of experience.

OPERATIONS

Paige Milligan, 2020 Graduate Program

Paige joined REMONDIS in 2020 as part of the Graduate Program, with an Operations focus. In September 2023 she was promoted to Operations Manager – Minto for our specialised Environmental Treatment Solutions business.

Reflecting on her time in the Graduate Program, Paige says: "My rotations were all very diverse; some even providing the opportunity to get hands-on experiences while learning about day-to-day operational processes and equipment.

“The highlight experience of the Graduate Program for me was the opportunity to work directly with the state General Manager. Being involved in projects and meetings with her taught me so much about the industry and helped me to develop my skills."
