Assistant Accountant

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be an integral part of our accounting team, supporting both Head Office operations and our branch network. This position provides exposure to diverse accounting functions and the chance to develop your technical skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end processes including treasury entries, accruals, and prepayments
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with financial statement compilation for statutory reporting
• Partner with business units on accounting queries and support requests
• Provide documentation for external audit requirements
• Complete Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys and adhoc reporting
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with system implementations
• Participate in training programs and maintain professional development

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting
• Commenced or planning to commence CA/CPA studies
• Experience in professional service or commercial roles
• Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Experience with financial systems and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive learning approach and team collaboration abilities
