We are proud to have been awarded the Sunshine Coast Council servicing the Caloundra and Nambour landfill operations and are seeking a high-performing, experienced Landfill Manager to lead and oversee our Caloundra site. This is a permanent, full-time role, ideal for someone locally based with strong knowledge of the Sunshine Coast region.

Reporting to the General Manager for Queensland and partnering with Local Councils this role is responsible for managing personnel, driving operational performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth through development opportunities, and commercial negotiations.


The role

  • Responsible for the proactive, efficient and professional management of the Caloundra and Nambour contract to ensure successful and safe operation.
  • Provide leadership to employees and subcontractors, professional communication and relationship with customers and relevant authorities.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities for the existing business.
  • Co-ordinate and delegate work where appropriate to ensure outstanding performance is achieved.
  • Actively contribute to a positive teamwork environment at all times.


Skills and experience

  • Proven management and hands-on leadership experience in operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workforce teams.
  • Strong background in waste management, transport, liquids, logistics, or related industries.
  • Coal and gas experience with deep local knowledge of CSG field layouts, site access, and regional industry operations.
  • Solid experience in tenders, contract negotiations, and business development.
  • Strong understanding of local compliance, regulatory, and site operational requirements
  • Experience in P&L ownership, budgeting, reporting, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills
