What you’ll be responsible for

This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our WA team.  The purpose of the role is to provide project management leadership and support for the identification, development, approval, construction and commissioning of projects, across our WA sites.

The role is responsible for leading the stakeholder and community engagement process and providing high quality professional support to the project team and national management to reduce the development risk and ensure the projects are progressing as planned and its status is well communicated.

More specifically, you will be involved with:

  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop growth opportunities for the WA business through organic expansion of existing operations
  • Project manage the rollout of new operational initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate on identifying M&A opportunities to suit geographic expansion for the business
  • Lead and or assist with the tendering requirements of the Business in preparation, estimating and timely submission
  • Prepare tenders and manage accurate cost estimates with the support of the Leadership team
  • Participate in the strategy process for the WA business
  • Liaise with operational and administration staff to ensure client requirements are met and maintained

Who you are

  • You possess previous Project Management experience in a similar role gained from within a waste management (preferred), transport, energy or mining sector environment
  • You have proven team and collaboration skills to effectively support and advice to site-based management & operations teams
  • You’re commercially astute, with the ability to interpret P&Ls, costing models & commercial and supplier contracts
  • You’ve demonstrated success in leading, influencing & implementing change projects with multiple stakeholders
  • You’ve got excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • You possess a continuous improvement and problem solving mindset
  • Sound knowledge on the use and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and maintenance related systems
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, business, planning, engineering or similar discipline is assumed
