Who we are

REMONDIS is one of the world's largest recycling, service and water companies. We’re a privately owned family company headquartered in Germany, with over 40,000 employees and operations on four continents. We’ve been here in Australia since 1982.
The waste industry is evolving at a cracking pace. REMONDIS Australia is also in the midst of our own organisational evolution. We are building the systems, processes and infrastructure we need to remain at the forefront of the circular economy journey. As such, we’re searching for individuals who have the resilience and drive required to help us on that path.
Together, we believe we can achieve a more sustainable future; a future in which waste is a resource.

Job Overview

As a Senior Data Governance Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping how data is managed, trusted, and used across the organization. Working closely with regional, national, and operational teams, you’ll be the go-to expert for driving data quality, consistency, and governance practices. Your focus will be on enabling data as a strategic asset - supporting internal stakeholders across the business with improved data integrity, accessibility, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Data Governance Initiatives: Contribute to the design and implementation of a robust Data Governance framework, including the development of policies, standards, and procedures. Maintain accurate and current information within the data governance platform and develop governance scorecards.

  • Champion Data Quality: Partner with stakeholders to define and implement data quality rules and metrics. Work closely with IT and business teams to conduct root cause analysis and drive remediation efforts to enhance data integrity.

  • Develop and Maintain a Data Inventory: Lead the creation and management of a centralized data catalogue and business glossary. Partner with stakeholders to document data lineage, ownership, and usage. Work with IT to ensure proper data storage, access controls, and security measures are in place.

  • Drive Stakeholder Engagement: Promote data literacy and data governance across the organization. Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and maintain ongoing communication to encourage stakeholder involvement and buy-in.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends and best practices. Perform regular data quality assessments, identify opportunities for data optimization, and report on key metrics and findings through data governance scorecards.

What You’ll Need

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related discipline—or equivalent practical experience in a data governance or data quality role.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management, with a track record of leading and delivering governance initiatives.

  • In-depth understanding of data management and data quality principles, including experience conducting data quality assessments, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance, and leading remediation efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement data governance policies, standards, and data quality procedures across complex business environments.

  • Proven experience operationalizing data governance practices - translating strategy into actionable processes that improve data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
