REMONDIS is seeking an experienced Employee Relations / Industrial Relations Specialist to join our People & Safety team in a full-time, permanent role based at our Mascot head office.

This is a specialist, advisory role suited to a HR professional who enjoys working hands-on with complex employee relations matters, enterprise bargaining and stakeholder engagement. You’ll play a key role in shaping positive, compliant and sustainable workplace outcomes across the business.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, People & Safety, you will act as a trusted subject matter expert across employment and industrial relations. You’ll work closely with leaders, employees, unions and external stakeholders, providing pragmatic advice and support across a diverse operational environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist advice on employment law, industrial relations and workplace policies
  • Managing employee relations matters end-to-end, including investigations, disputes and resolution processes
  • Supporting and contributing to enterprise bargaining negotiations and workplace agreements
  • Drafting, reviewing and implementing employment-related policies and procedures
  • Partnering with leaders on complex and sensitive workplace issues
  • Delivering training and guidance on ER/IR topics
  • Maintaining constructive relationships with unions and external stakeholders

About You

You are a confident and practical HR professional who enjoys working at the coalface and influencing outcomes through expertise rather than formal people leadership.

You will bring:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR, with strong experiences across employee relations and/or industrial relations (but this might be your first Specialist role!)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and relevant employment legislation
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading enterprise bargaining and workplace negotiations
  • Excellent communication, judgement and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics or waste management industries (highly regarded)
