We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant based in the Head Office in Sydney (Mascot), NSW.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Assistant Financial Accountant will play a significant role as part of the Financial Accounting team at Head Office. The role consists of a wide range of accounting duties to help support the Head Office finance team as well as the operational branches at REMONDIS Australia.


What you’ll be doing

  • Processing of bank entries, non-complex accruals, prepayments, allocation entries and other non-complex journals for month-end
  • Preparation of selected balance sheet reconciliations as well as assisting in the follow up of supporting documentation for branch related balance sheet balances
  • Provide assistance to the Financial Accountant in the review and submission of CAPEX requests, asset disposals and transfers as well as general fixed asset register maintenance
  • Partner with the business in relation to financial queries/requests
  • Assist in the compilation and review of annual financial statements
  • Assist in providing supporting documentation for external audit purposes
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of system process improvements
  • Adhoc analysis, reporting, tax and project work as requested by the Senior Finance Manager


Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Accounting
  • Currently completing CA/CPA qualification 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of financial principles
  • Willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook
