Purpose and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic Employee Relations / Industrial Relations Manager to lead and support ER/IR strategy, case management, development and endorsement of key policies and enterprise agreement implementation across our diverse workforce. Reporting to the Executive Manager People & Safety, you will provide expert advice across the business and ensure compliance with employment legislation and industrial instruments.

Key responsibilities include advising on complex industrial and employment matters, supporting the resolution of industrial issues. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IR/ER professional who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is passionate about making a positive impact across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations and manage enterprise agreement compliance
  • Provide expert advice on ER/IR issues including performance management, grievances, and disciplinary matters
  • Interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work legislation to support business operations
  • Build manager capability through coaching, training, and policy development
  • Represent the business in Fair Work and other industrial forums as required
  • Partner with HR, Safety, and Legal teams to ensure a consistent and fair approach to employee matters

 What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field
  • Relevant experience in an ER/IR-focused role, ideally in a complex, blue-collar environment
  • Deep understanding of Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and EA negotiation frameworks
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels with confidence and credibility
  • Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the waste management, utilities or transport sectors will be highly regarded
