Take the lead in driving Queensland’s post-collection waste management and resource recovery operations — including our flagship Swanbank Resource Recovery and Waste Management Facility, and key Rocklea and Northgate Transfer Stations.

As Regional Manager, you’ll oversee multi-site waste, recycling, and landfill operations, leading high-performing teams to deliver excellence in safety, environmental compliance, and sustainable outcomes. You’ll optimise operational performance, manage budgets and P&L, and build strong relationships with councils, government bodies, contractors, and customers — all while shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future for Queensland.

Based at Swanbank, Ipswich, this role manages diverse operations and a team of up to 50 people — spanning landfills, transfer stations, organics processing and resource recovery facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-site waste management, resource recovery, landfill, and transport operations to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant outcomes.
  • Drive consistency, operational excellence, and positive environmental results across all facilities.
  • Manage budgets, P&L performance, and capital expenditure within agreed targets.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Project manage large-scale infrastructure and recovery projects.
  • Pursue new business opportunities to grow and diversify REMONDIS services.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, manage risk, and deliver strong commercial results.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a workforce of around 40–50 employees.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSEQ standards.
  • Support workforce planning and industrial relations, including enterprise agreements.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local councils, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent REMONDIS in joint ventures and industry forums.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives that enhance resource recovery, reduce landfill, and drive circular economy outcomes.


About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in waste management, recycling, construction, quarrying, or mining.
  • Proven success managing multi-site operations and large, hands-on teams.
  • Strong financial management and P&L accountability experience.
  • A safety-first leader who builds engaged, high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder.
  • Solid understanding of Queensland environmental and waste regulations.
  • Qualifications in safety leadership or project management are highly regarded.
