The Role
Based at Killaloe transfer station near Port Douglas in Far North Queensland, this is an opportunity to lead site operations. As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the transfer station, overseeing site staff, and where required outside contractors. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and productive workplace, delivering excellent customer service, and identifying operational improvements that drive efficiency, compliance, and growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise all transfer station operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance
  • Coordinate daily activities
  • Liaise with drivers, mechanics, and subcontractors to ensure timely and safe service delivery
  • Oversee WHS and environmental compliance including inspections, toolbox talks, reporting and incident management
  • Monitor and report on site performance, productivity, and environmental impact
  • Support operational planning, asset maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build and lead a positive and safety-focused team culture

What You Bring

  • Previous supervisory experience in waste, logistics, civil or heavy industry operations, council transfer stations
  • Experience working with heavy machinery, excavator ticket; MR license preferred
  • Strong understanding of WHS, environmental and fatigue management compliance
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence, lead and work collaboratively with teams
  • Comfortable with planning and decision-making
  • Sound computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • A proactive attitude, with the resilience and motivation to lead by example and improve day-to-day operations
