Your role:

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of collections and credit operations, lead and mentor a team of eight credit controllers to achieve team goals, drive performance, implement effective collection strategies, and ensure compliance with company policies and credit guidelines.

Leadership and Team Management

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the Credit Control team
• Set performance goals and KPIs for the team in collaboration with the Accounts Receivable Manager, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying areas for improvement
• Oversee the professional development of team members, Provide training and guidance on best practices, 
• Conduct monthly 1:1’s to assist with managing succession planning
• Empower the team to ensure they reach their targets and KPI’s

Collections

• Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and execution of collections strategies to reduce overdue receivables and maintain optimal cash flow
• Monitor and report on collection metrics and identify areas for improvement in collection processes
• Implement effective collection strategies to optimise cash flow and reduce overdue accounts
• Handle escalated collection issues and negotiate repayment plans as necessary
• Produce accurate and timely reports for monitoring accounts, collections activity and escalation of overdue debts

Credit Management

• Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and implementation of credit policies and procedures to assess customer creditworthiness
• Monitor credit risk exposure nationally
• Manage national stop trade and customer dispute processes
• Support Accounts Receivable Manager in development and implementation of Quality Assurance practices
• Collaborate with operations, sales and other departments to manage customer relationships and ensure timely resolution of credit issues

About you:

• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
• Experience in Collections and Credit management
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to collections practices
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Certification in Credit and Collections management will be highly regarded
