Who are we?

REMONDIS is one of the world’s largest recycling, service and water companies. With 1,100 employees and 38 business locations, REMONDIS has been operating in Australia for 40 years, now servicing more than 24,000 commercial and industrial customers. We work collaboratively with customers and local authorities to deliver innovative, safe and reliable solutions across all industry sectors.

The waste industry is evolving at a cracking pace. We are also in the midst of our own organisational evolution. We are building the systems, processes and infrastructure we need to remain at the forefront of the circular economy journey. As such, we’re searching for individuals who have the resilience and drive required to help us on that path.

Together, we believe we can achieve a more sustainable future; a future in which waste is a resource.

What you’ll love

We are hiring for a Major Account Manager to join our QLD team, based at our Swanbank operation.

You’ll work closely with existing accounts, exploring ways to grow our business and retain those relationships.  In tandem, you’ll develop a pipeline of new business, with a varied range of our largest customers. The sales cycle is as diverse as our customer base; at times you’ll present a simple proposal and at others, you’ll be responding to tenders.

The potential to grow your portfolio is endless. Every single commercial and industrial business produces waste and you’ll have the autonomy and scope to drive growth with no handbrake on!

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Cultivate new business within a set client list, focusing on profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Strengthen relationships with client decision-makers and influencers to ensure loyalty and retention.
  • Drive contract renewals and maximize service extensions through strategic account planning.
  • Promote a Zero Harm safety culture, identifying hazards on-site to protect customers and staff.
  • Partner closely with Operations to address client needs and meet service deadlines seamlessly.
  • Maintain accurate client activity records and provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.

Who you are

  • Commercial nous: You are an experienced business to business sales professional, with relevant experience in major accounts management, able to share your successful track record of results in winning new business and retaining existing accounts.
  • Trusted relationships: You have a natural ability to build trusted relationships with decision makers, with an ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Sales pipeline: You’re able to maintain prospect and lead information in our system, ensuring you use our systems and resources to support your success.
  • Documentation: You’ll be able to respond to tenders and complete all proposals. You’ll be a skilled presenter; you know your way around Excel and PowerPoint and can make those presentations sing.
  • Attributes: Whilst experience in the waste arena is a nice to have, more important to us is the drive, motivation and resilience required to succeed in a high growth, dynamic environment.

Reasons you’ll stay

  • Autonomy: You’ll have the resources and systems you need to be successful and the independence and autonomy to thrive
  • Learning: Across the team there is so much experience and knowledge around, you will learn through osmosis and in turn you’ll be set up for career success
  • Do the work that matters: Contribute to a more sustainable future. The solutions you’ll be representing will support businesses, the community and the environment
  • Career opportunities: We are growing and with growth comes opportunity. With opportunities to earn bonus, coupled with visionary leadership, your personal and professional growth will be in overdrive

Are you with us? To apply

  • You’ll need a copy of a current license and proof of entitlement to work in Australia.
  • You’ll undergo a police check and pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test.

REMONDIS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we invite you to be part of an organisation that fosters a diverse workplace. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

If you’re passionate about the environment and eager to help organizations, make sustainable choices, we’d love to hear from you!
