We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Environmental Manager to join our team based at our Mascot, NSW to drive our environmental initiatives forward.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Interaction: Engage with environmental regulatory bodies.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and implement plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Branch Collaboration: Facilitate proactive relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure environmental compliance and reporting.
  • Health, Safety & Quality collaboration: ensure consistent risk management.
  • Incident Management: Report, investigate, and manage environmental incidents.
  • Liaise with Operational & Technical Support regarding new recycling and processing streams.
  • Executive Collaboration: Provide feedback on environmental policy developments.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Govern EPA license returns and NPI.
  • Standardisation & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement.
  • Specialist Support: Provide environmental support for due diligence and tenders.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Visible Leadership: Promote environmental stewardship.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop environmental risk management skills.

 

About you:

  • Experience: 7-10 years in environmental management.
  • Industry Background: Experience in high-risk, blue-collar environments.
  • Leadership: Proven team leadership in multi-site industries.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Experience with environmental regulatory bodies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Achieving outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Technical Knowledge: Transport, resource recovery, waste management expertise.
  • Proven knowledge of environmental legislation and standards.
  • Incident Management: Incident investigation experience (ICAM facilitator desirable).
  • Initiative Leadership: Leading environmental initiatives.
  • High level project management and communication skills.
  • Commercial & Technical Understanding: Waste/water industry knowledge.
