The Role:

As the State Sales Manager, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team of Area Sales Managers, Major Account Managers, and Internal Sales Representatives.
  • Drive the implementation of national sales and marketing strategies to achieve sales growth and customer retention targets.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager Victoria and National C&I Sales Manager to develop innovative revenue streams and expand our market share.
  • Create and execute comprehensive sales plans, including target revenue, market segments, and margins.
  • Translate national strategies into effective local sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop compelling sales proposals, tender submissions, and customer presentations.
  • Be a key member of the state's management team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Deliver outstanding sales results across Victoria, including liquids, industrial services, and C&I sectors.
  • Identify and capitalize on unique market opportunities to secure a sustainable market presence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and customers.
  • Promote a positive HSEQ culture through effective communication and exemplary behaviours.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.

 

Who You Are:

  • Have at least 5 years of sales leadership experience in the waste and / or industrial, manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in leading field-based sales teams and driving business development – a hands-on approach!
  • Exhibit strong customer account management skills.
  • Have experience in cross-functional collaboration, including sales, operations, finance, administration, and customer service.
  • Show strong team leadership capabilities, managing multiple teams with diverse objectives.
  • Possess high-level analytical skills and business & financial acumen.
  • Understand logistics, industrial services, hazardous waste, dangerous goods, and/or commercial waste.
  • Be proficient in using MS Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Be willing to travel across operational sites within the Victorian region.
  • Tertiary qualification in business or equivalent sales professional experience.
