Tax Accountant 

Join REMONDIS Australia as a Tax Accountant in our finance team based in Mascot. Support our Tax Manager in delivering comprehensive internal tax functions while ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws and contributing to our growing environmental services business.

About the Role

This position focuses on accurate and timely execution of tax compliance, reporting, and operations. You'll maintain documentation, prepare tax returns, and support process improvements while working alongside an experienced team in a complex business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge income tax returns, GST, FBT, PAYG instalments and other statutory filings
• Calculate deferred tax assets and liabilities, supporting AASB 112 compliance
• Maintain accurate records, workpapers and audit trails for tax positions
• Provide data and analysis for transaction-related tax advice including mergers and acquisitions
• Monitor tax legislation changes and assess compliance impacts
• Support transfer pricing documentation and Country-by-Country Reporting
• Participate in automating manual tax processes and identifying efficiency improvements
• Liaise with internal teams, external advisors, auditors and government agencies

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CA/CPA qualification
• Minimum 4 years experience in tax roles within large or complex business environments
• Strong knowledge of income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax
• Experience with tax effect accounting and Australian tax legislation
• Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
