This newly created Waste Support Officer role gives you the chance to work independently, with the support of a close-knit, experienced team. Located in Castle Hill, NSW you will be based at Castle Towers Shopping Centre, helping to promote sustainable waste practices through a mix of operational support, tenant engagement, and education.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing daily waste operations across both centres
• Understanding site-specific waste streams and how they’re managed
• Suggesting sustainable improvements to existing processes
• Optimizing bin sizes and collection schedules
• Inspecting bins and storage areas for compliance
• Promoting correct waste segregation (general waste, recycling, organics)
• Reducing contamination and improving recycling rates
• Responding to waste-related issues with cleaning and maintenance teams

What You Bring

• Motivated, eager to learn, and passionate about sustainability
• A clear communicator, confident working with tenants and staff
• Organized, reliable, and detail oriented
• Able to work independently and solve basic problems
• Familiar with or open to learning about waste and recycling
• Aware of general workplace safety
• A background or studies in environmental science, sustainability, or education is a plus
